Welcome to the Royal Dublin Golf Club
It is my great pleasure to welcome you and all our visitors and guests to The Royal Dublin Golf Club, in this our 125th Anniversary year. Our links is our pride and joy and I hope that you find it an enjoyable and challenging experience. I hope also that all our visitors enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of our clubhouse, our people and of our golf professionals shop.
Our links course founded in 1885 was designed by Harry Colt. Under the guidance of course architect Martin Hawtree, the links went through a revival which was completed in 2008 and today enjoys a top 10 ranking. Located on the Bull Island Nature Reserve and just four miles from the city centre, the par 72 (7,200 yards) course offers golfers at all levels a real challenge in a unique and beautiful setting, within Dublin Bay.
The Club has a rich history and has hosted the Irish Open, the Irish Amateur Open, is a qualifying course for The Open Championship and this year will also host the Irish Amateur Close Championship. Royal Dublin is the home course of one of Ireland’s greatest golfers, Christy O’Connor Senior, with ten Ryder Cup appearances and who in 2009 was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Christy’s achievements are proudly displayed in the Christy O’Connor room in the Clubhouse.
I hope that Royal Dublin will leave a lasting impression on you and that you will come back to visit us again.
