A Welcome From Our Captain

It gives me great pleasure to welcome our visitors and guests to The Royal Dublin Golf Club.
Our Club was founded in 1885. It received its Royal designation in 1891. Designed by the famous golf architect Harry Colt it was redesigned by Martin Hawtree in 2006 to meet the demands of the modern game.
I often think of the great golfers that walked this great links as I have done for over 30 years. Seve Ballesteros who won the Irish Open in 1983 and 1985. Bernhard Langer winner of the Irish Open in 1984. Louis Oosthuizen the winner of the Irish Amateur Open in 2006. Jack Nicklaus, Rory McIlroy, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, David Feherty the list goes on.
We are so proud of our legendary Christy O'Connor Snr. a ten times Ryder Cup Player. At 87 years of age Christy is still a big part of our club and you will find him most days at the club chatting to members and visitors alike.
I hope when you visit our historic links you too will enjoy the famous wooden bridge and the hospitality that you will undoubtedly receive.
Hope to see you soon.
Seán Kelly
