Jeff Fallon Golf Manager of the Year - Note from Brendan O’Malley

Dear Members,

Please join with me in congratulating our General Manager, Jeff Fallon, who was named Golf Manager of the year at the Irish Golf Awards. The event, held at Mount Juliet, on  Monday 3rd October, is the primary Irish golf tourism event in Ireland. The two day event is run by the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) and the last day of the event includes the annual gala dinner and awards ceremony, which is emceed by Shane O’Donoghue.  The IGTOA is the recognised national representative body for the professional Irish golf tourism industry across the island of Ireland

Not only did Jeff receive the Golf Manager of the Year award during the conference but he was also asked to make a presentation to the delegates on the first day of the event.  The focus of the presentation was how a golf club managed their way through the pandemic, the learnings from the pandemic and then looking to the future. This was followed by an industry panel discussion.  This was a great opportunity for Jeff to showcase the positive elements of how Royal Dublin managed their way through the pandemic, while also talking about our plans for the future.

As you can see from the pictures Jeff uses every opportunity to promote Royal Dublin and show the club in a positive light. Through his management he ensured that the impact on the club during Covid 19 was kept to a minimum and his marketing skills & long standing relationships with Golf Tourism have ensured a continued  growth in Green fee income since his arrival as GM in 2017.

Well done Jeff.
