Clubhouse Policies

Dress Code

STANDARD OF DRESS

To ensure that our members and visitors feel at ease whilst visiting the Club we would ask that you please adhere to our dress code as outlined below.  We expect that all members and visitors wear an acceptable standard of attire both on the Links and in the Clubhouse. 

Members must ensure that their guests are aware of the Club’s dress code policy.


Acceptable

Golf-style T-shirts/tops, including turtle neck tops may be worn.

Men’s shirts should have a collar or mock collar and sleeves.

Tailored trousers or knee length tailored shorts for men with either knee-length socks or sports socks.

Tailored trousers, three quarter length trousers, shorts, skirts or skorts for women


Not Acceptable

Denim, combats and jeans.

Collarless shirts including Soccer/GAA/Rugby jerseys.

Untailored shorts and cargo shorts.

Tracksuits, leggings, hooded sweatshirts or similar leisurewear.

Trainers* and open toed sandals.

Wearing of caps except when in the Locker Room or on the Links.


*Juniors and Cadets may wear smart casual trainers


Royal Dublin only permits soft spike golf shoes on the Links. In the Clubhouse golf shoes may only be worn in the Locker Room and the Moran Room.  Access to the Moran Room in golf shoes is only permitted via the external back stairs.


At formal Club dinners, all General Meetings of the Club, Gentlemen must wear a formal jacket and tie and Ladies the appropriate equivalent.  In the Dining room, the same standards exist with the tie rule relaxed.  For under eighteens, the jacket and tie rule does not apply.


The Dress Code will be enforced in line with Club policies relating to members, visitors and guests.


MOBILE PHONES

In the Clubhouse if you wish to make a call on your mobile phone please do so in the Hall, Locker Room, or Memorabilia Room.  You may not make a phone call anywhere else in the Clubhouse or on the balcony.

The use of mobile phones on the links is not permitted, except in exceptional circumstances, i.e. medical emergencies or equipment breakdown.
